It may sound strange to use your own country as an example of financial attack, and if I’m not careful, someone will label it Iranian propaganda. But this isn’t about the US or Iran—it’s about revealing a spiritual reality through human behavior. Nations have targeted each other’s economies for centuries, because when you fight an enemy, you use every weapon available.

Operation Economic Fury

There have been no bombs dropping in Iran for a few weeks, and President Trump formally informed congress that the aggression was finished. Although the hot war has cooled off (this could change at any moment), he enlisted the Treasury Secretary to continue the fight.

Strange move, huh? But remember, money is war.

Here is what Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent posted on his official X account:

These lines in particular caught my eye:

The Treasury Department, through Economic Fury, has targeted Iran’s international shadow banking infrastructure, access to crypto, …. Under @POTUS’ maximum pressure campaign, Tehran’s inflation has doubled and its currency has rapidly depreciated…. [The] Treasury will continue to exert maximum pressure and any person, vessel, or entity facilitating illicit flows to Tehran risks exposure to U.S. sanctions.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent

This media outlet said, “The US has been targeting Iranian bank accounts abroad, aimed at crippling Tehran’s financial lifelines by seizing Iranian assets, freezing bank accounts and pressuring foreign governments to cut ties with the nation.”

It later quoted Bessent in a Fox Business interview: “We are freezing bank accounts everywhere. More importantly, we are making people less willing to deal with the regime.”

This strategy is breaking Iran, literally.

Satan’s Fury

As Christians, we must understand we have an enemy who also attacks our personal economy with fury. He seeks to limit our access to resources and wealth so that we cannot use them.

There are money and resources that should be in your possession to help you accomplish your goals and plans, but they are not accessible to you.

You have been working diligently and faithfully, praying, tithing, even fasting, but you are not as far ahead as you thought you would be.

You were promised a raise, or you were given a timeline for when to expect funds, or inheritance, or bonus, yet it has been delayed.

Or, your money is simply not doing what it is supposed to be doing. It should give you the most options in any given situation. Yet you don’t seem to have the money or the options. Your money should be working for you, allowing you to acquire assets and opportunities, pay for needs and wants. Unfortunately, “It’s always something,” is a phrase all-too-familiar to you.

That is Satan’s Operation Economic Fury.

We should not be ignorant of his strategies.

Iran could blame it on a technology, or on a bank, but the reality is that these things are happening because of a strategy being employed against them in a coordinated effort by other governments.

You must realize that not everything that happens to you financially is normal, an accident or chance. Satan fights against you. He has not called off his Treasury Secretary of the Underworld. He still seeks to steal, kill and destroy.

You Must Fight Back Correctly

So what do we do?

Recognize it and call him out on it. Command him to cease and release. Launch your missiles at him via spoken word (aka prayer and declaration).

Fight back spiritually and do not give in to his pressure, threats, incentives, and pain.

Do not believe you are weaker than him. After all, the God of War has your back.

Secondly, pray for your family, friends and business relationships. Notice how Bessent said they want to discourage anyone from “facilitating illicit flows” to Iran, and “make people less willing to deal with the regime.”

Satan considers anyone cooperating with you to be a problem. In his twisted mind, those resources are illicit flows. He wants to hit and discourage anyone facilitating your success and prosperity. His desire is to make them less willing to work with and release resources to you.

This could be by directly slandering you or stirring up conflict. Perhaps it could be by creating problems for them so that they do not have the resources to give you. Due to frustrating circumstances, they give up and pursue something else, thereby abandoning the path that would have included you.

You must pray for them and their success.

Pray that the value you provide would be appropriate and adequate to convince them that you are a worthy allocation of their resources. Pray that your work adds value to their life, or is accomplishing something they wish they could do but do not have the skills or time to do it. So they release resources to facilitate the shared goal and purpose.

Pray that it goes well with them in their personal life, and in their business. Pray for the favor and prosperity of God on their life.

When Solomon was building the temple, a foreign king named Hiram was loyal and sympathetic to the cause. Do you think Solomon was concerned with his prosperity? Pray for your Hirams, that they would have the prosperity and protection of the Almighty.

Iran and its allies may not have the authority and power to make the US coalition stop. But you and I have authority. Rebuke Satan and do not tolerate his actions against you.
